You've learned to clawhammer a bit and you may have even fooled around with some tunings. This workshop will address some other right and left-hand tricks, some new tunings and tips for surviving jams. You'll learn two new songs. Some banjo knowledge required.

Learn the Basic Finger-picking patterns of Elizabeth Cotton, Mississippi John Hurt, Merle Travis and Blind Blake.

Students should have basic chord knowledge and be able to change chords easily. This will be mainly a right hand workout. We will also explore the options and differences between using finger-picks and bare fingers.
