GUITAR, BASS, FLUTE, PIANO, AND OTHER INSTRUMENTS

Style: Jazz, Blues, Classical, Folk and Rock.
My main goal is to help interested students become better at whatever style of music they may be interested in learning. I've played many kinds of music over the years: I teach jazz, blues, classical, folk and rock. For many years my two primary interests have been jazz and classical. I enjoy young beginners, semi-pros of any age and everyone in between. Jazz on electric guitar is my main focus. On bass and flute I play both jazz and classical . These three instruments are the ones I play the best, but I am also familiar with a number of others well enough to teach them. On piano I can start beginning to intermediate players, I also understand jazz voicing and jazz theory quite well. Music theory, improvisation, playing by ear, learning some classical tunes- that's the way I do it. I currently am teaching (or have in the past) the following instruments: guitar, bass (electric and acoustic), flute, piano, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and violin. 2008 will be my 13th year teaching on a full time basis.
