3. Recycle more and Buy Recycled. Use both sides of a sheet of paper. Recycled paper uses 80% less water, 65% less energy and produces 95% less air pollution than virgin paper. 4. Switch to Compact Fluorescent Bulbs. They use ¾ less energy than incandescent
bulbs and last 10 times longer. 5. If Not In Use Turn Off the Juice. Turn off the lights when you leave a room. 6. Adjust Your Thermostat. 68 degrees in the winter and 75 degrees in the summer.
For each 1 degree you turn down the thermostat in the winter, you'll
save up to 5% on your heating costs. 7. Check Your Tires. The right air pressure will save you gas. 8. Buy local less traveled food and products. Transporting goods uses fossil fuel. Filter your
water instead of drinking bottled water. 9. Plant a Tree or Get an Indoor Plant. Plants clean our air. A tree will absorb 1 ton of
carbon dioxide. 10. Spread the Word. |
